"greenraven: So, I just randomly start thinking about stuff, a little bit of this, a little bit of that... when I get to one really interesting thought... 'online'. And I thought to myself: "Too bad we don't know each other in real life." And I'm not just talking about the two of you, or even a few others on Phanx, I mean everyone I've known online, past and present. You know, all of my imaginary friends.
So then I thought about finding you all in real life... I do loves me a good challenge. "But then what?" I mean, let's assume that I manage to track you all down and make a grand list of who's who, what am I going to do next. Do I go on some grand cross-country (and is some cases overseas) mad dash just to meet and greet you all face to face?
It does have a sort of poetically romantic charm to it, going on a grand adventure 'round the world to show proof that imaginary people do exist. And I'm sure that it would be a great conversation piece many years down the road: "So did I tell you about the time when in my younger days I went coast to coast and around the globe as I managed to track down all the people I once knew online? It's got chases, crashes, intrigue, Santa's workshop, murder most foul, monkey butlers, and ninjas."
I must say, it is rather temping to start this little search... but then, this would be borderline stalker territory. But I do wonder how most of you would react if all of a sudden I showed up at your door steps tomorrow. Dear god, I can just imagine some of you now.
