Hi guys! Because of the sense of wonder RPG Maker placed in my head, I still have a dream of making games. In fact, Angel-Spire itself has given me ideas for games that I am hoping to one day share. In the meantime I am finding loads of interesting software that have interesting capabilities.
The first of which I would like to share is one that I have not yet used. It looks hella cool though. Click this good looking logo to go to their website. This software transforms your bland, 2D, pixelated bullshit into 3D worlds that look amazing! I definitely WANT to use this one day, but today is not that day.

On the other side of the spectrum, there's the open source game engine that I am playing around in, GODOT. As some people are saying on the internet, Godot is basically Unity but easier. It's also open source so any money you make from your project isn't handed back to the developers of the game engine. Worth mentioning is their Python-esque programming language GDScript, which is easy to learn and has amazing capabilities. Definitely worth checking out. It has 3D and 2D capabilities, but watch out if you're planning to make a 3D game with Godot, because they are about to release a major update, GODOT 3.0, that will not be compatible with older Godot projects.

Also, one of my old favorites in RPG Making is still around and updating; Engine001. Always worth a look.

Now, from this point on this topic shall be the "Let's talk about software that helps us make games" topic. I think this is a fun discussion to have.

I can't get past Stitch saying hello. I've looked at that for like 5 minutes straight. XD

One day I hope to finish something too.

One day, I hope to start one of the many game projects that I've talked about. laugh2.gif

Both of those look intriguing. I have to admit, "Unity but easier" makes me really want to check Godot out.

I'm guessing that maybe you assumed I would post something about Stencyl if you made this topic.

Well the jokes on you, because I'm far too biased regarding Stencyl to feel good about plugging it places (since I'm one of the developers of Stencyl).

But, well, I can at least link you to it and let people decide what they think.
